The Town of Dej

Situated at the confluence of the rivers Somesul Mic and Somesul Mare, the town of Dej is an important industrial centre in the Northwest of the Transylvanian plateau.
The most important industrial unit of the town is SC Somes SA.

With its geographical position and endowments, the town of Dej succeeds to offer to Somes company all the necessary conditions for carrying out its activity:

• indispensable water resource coming from SOMES river, in the neighbourhood;
• the location of the mill near the railway network with direct access to it through the company railway, respectively:
  • the finished products warehouse, giving the possibility for the goods to be delivered in wagons and containers;
  • the woodyard section, allowing the rapid and efficient unloading of the main raw material, the wood;
  • the chlorine warehouse, ensuring easy access of the chlorine tanks to the bleaching agents plant;
  • the recovery furnace plant;
• the proximity of the gas distribution network from Medias;
• the location near the important forest regions: Rodna and Bârgau mountains, the forest regions from Covasna and Harghita.
