Somes S.A. Dej - 1st place in the Best rating Top of the safest companies in Romania.

• Coface Rating Agency in Romania, which is a leader in furnishing business information in Central and East Europe, together with Finmedia, elaborated "Best rating Top of the safest companies in Romania”, which companies are characterized as ideal business partners. Out of the 429.000 working companies in Romania, at the end of 2004 and the beginning of 2005, only 159 embodied the requested criteria (turnover, total assets, the average number of employees, debts, solvability, liquidities)
• Out of these 159, SOMES SA, member of SCR Group, occupied the first place of the Top in the area of Pulp and Paper.
  This first place confirms once again our company's value and its performances for the last years, value that was recognized and appreciated through numerous prizes of excellence and national distinctions awarded at the specific manifestations.
• SOMES SA was conferred a Diploma of Excellence in Business, for being on the first place of the classifications during the last 5 years. This distinction was awarded by Romania's President in the name of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.
• As a novelty, in 2005 SOMES company's specialists successfully experimented, production of sulphate hardwood pulp. This achievement, with special technical implications, was exploited in 2006 and 2007 and developed concomitantly with the production of sulphate softwood pulp.
• Concerning the environmental aspects, SOMES SA is included in the graph imposed by National Agency for Environment Protection, and in December 2005, it initiated the first stage of a campaign for Environmental Quality Improvement in the area of Dej, called "A cleaner air". This will consists of changing the electrostatic precipitator, investment that will bring real changes in air's quality.
